The Olympics are in Marseille for the first time!

From Wednesday July 24 to Thursday August 8, 2024, the Olympic sailing events and ten Olympic football matches will take place in Marseille.
In the event of adverse weather conditions that force a postponement, a reserve day has also been scheduled for Friday August 9 for the Olympic sailing events.

Use public transport and soft mobility options to get to the Olympic venues and CLUB 2024!

 

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

METRO

  • No line closures planned, regular fares.
  • Metro service will be more frequent during the Olympic Games, with a train every five minutes between noon and 19h (including weekends) and special service on match days to and from the Marseille Stadium.
  • During the Olympic period from July 24 to August 8, metro services will run until 00h30, with a possible extension if a football match goes into extra time.

 

BUS

  • Routes 19 and 83 run at maximum frequency in summer, with a bus every four minutes (Bus 19) and every six minutes (Bus 83) in the afternoon during beach season.
  • For Route 83, from Thursday July 4 to Monday August 26 inclusive, traffic will run in both directions (on the landward side) between Avenue Talabot and Avenue du Colonel Serot.
    During this period, the “Corniche Talabot” stop on the way to the “Rond-Point du Prado” terminus will not be served. Information will be provided to passengers on the buses and at the stop. 

To coincide with the Olympic kiteboarding final on August 8, buses on Route 83 will be restricted from 10h30 until the Corniche reopens. The route will operate in two half lines and will run between:

  • Place du 4 Septembre and the Vieux Port
  • the Marseille Marina and the Rond Point du Prado

 

TICKETS / OPEN PAYMENT

The Open Payment system allows you to pay and validate your journey on the bus, tram, or metro. Il suffit de présenter sa carte de paiement sans contact ou son smartphone sur les bornes d’accès dédiées du métro ou sur les valideurs dédiés à bord des tramways et bus. All you have to do is present your contactless payment card or smartphone at the dedicated metro kiosks or at the on-board terminals on trams and buses.

 

PARK-AND-RIDE

  • The park-and-ride facilities will be open to all users through the Open Payment system.
    You will be able to park your vehicle at a park-and-ride facility and enjoy a quick connection to the public transport network.

During the Olympic Games, the park-and-ride sites will be accessible to non-registered customers by using a bank card at the car park entrance and on public transport:

  • Park-and-Ride day pass: €2.20
  • Solo ticket validated with a bank card: €1.70

MARITIME SHUTTLES

  • Connections between the Vieux Port and the Frioul islands, the Port de l’Estaque, and the Port des Goudes: normal service from Wednesday July 24 to Friday August 9 during the Olympic Games.

  • Connection between the Vieux Port and the Pointe Rouge port: no service from Wednesday July 24 to Friday August 9 during the Olympic Games.

SOFT MOBILITY: BIKES/SCOOTERS

There are three options for people using bikes or e-scooters:

FREE SECURE PARKING AROUND THE TWO OLYMPIC VENUES

At the initiative of the City of Marseille, a free secure bike and scooter parking area will be set up around the two Olympic venues for private individuals (limited capacity, online reservation possible). Bicycle helmets and batteries may be left in the parking area but must be attached to the bicycle. No liability will be accepted in the event of theft.

  • Bicycle parking near the Marseille Marina / Avenue du Parc Borély
    Every day from 9h to 23h from Wednesday July 24 to Sunday August 11.
     
  • Bicycle parking near the Marseille Stadium / Rond-Point du Prado
    On match days from 13h00 to midnight (July 24, 25, 27, 28, 30, 31 &  2, 3, 5, 6 August.)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR TICKET HOLDERS
  • Making life easier for ticket holders Download the Paris 2024 Olympic Games app.
    Real-time information, alerts to possible postponement of competitions, locations of venues for festivities...  
  • Access to the Marseille Marina Olympic site is across from the Rond Point du David / statue of David.
    The site is open to spectators from 10h30 to 20h. There is no assigned seating or grandstand in the Marina. We strongly advise visitors to allow enough time for transport and to get to the site for 10h30.
     
  • Access to the Marseille Stadium Olympic site depends on the zone indicated on your ticket: 
    → Ganay entrance for Ganay and Sud stands ► via Boulevard Raymond Teisseire, get off the Ste Marguerite-Dromel metro stop.
    → Jean Bouin entrance for Jean Bouin and the Nord stands ► Boulevard Michelet, get off at the Rond-point du Prado metro stop.

    Please note: our animal friends, even if kept on a leash, are not allowed at Olympic sites, with the exception of guide dogs or assistance dogs.  


FORBIDDEN OBJECTS AT THE OLYMPIC SITES

 

ACCESS TO THE OLYMPIC AND CLUB 2024 VENUES FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

The Marseille Marina, the Marseille Stadium, and CLUB 2024 are fully accessible for people with reduced mobility (PRM), wheelchair users (PFR),  and people with disabilities (PSH).

 

FREE DEDICATED PARKING LOTS FOR PEOPLE WITH REDUCED MOBILITY AND WHEELCHAIR USERS

  • STADIUM: the entire P5 permanent car park is reserved for wheelchair users who are ticket holders for the football matches.► Entrance via the Impasse de la Ola
     
  • MARINA: the P3 Marseille Huveaune - EFFIA car park is reserved for wheelchair users who are ticket holders for the nautical events
    Please note that from July 11 to August 18, this car park will only be open to people with disabilities.
     
  • CLUB 2024: the P3 Marseille Huveaune - EFFIA car park is reserved for holders of the official CMI permit card for people with disabilities. ►Within the limits of available spaces

     

DROP-OFF POINT FOR PEOPLE WITH REDUCED MOBILITY OR WHEELCHAIR USERS

  • STADE: a Mobimétropole/taxi drop off/pick up zone is located at the Prado roundabout in front of the main entrance to Parc Chanot.  
     
  • MARINA and CLUB 2024: a Mobimétropole/Taxi-private drop off/pick up zone is located beside the Rond-Point du David roundabout on Avenue du Prado near the Plage du Prado bus stop, in the direction of the Marseille Stadium.

 

 

AT THE MARINA DE MARSEILLE

  • Priority access to entrances, ticket office, and concessionsAgents de sécurité formés aux protocoles adaptés pour le control des PSH
  • Security guards trained in the appropriate protocols for checking people with disabilities
  • Support from volunteers trained to welcome people with disabilities
  • Mobility assistance (golf carts and assistance wheelchairs). Mobility assistance golf carts will run a circuit from the entrance to the site’s points of interest throughout the day. There is also a wheelchair loan service at this site in addition to the usual assistance.
  • Magnetic Induction Loop (MIL) at reception and ticketing points
  • Reserved areas for wheelchair users and carers/companions
  • Accessible pathways
  • Accessible toilets
  • Dog-friendly facilities for guide and assistance dogs
  • High-contrast signage and clear visibility of accessible services

 

AT CLUB 2024

  • The parasports on offer are boccia, wheelchair basketball, and seated volleyball.
    Introductory sessions are available every day. Full details of the schedule are available on this dedicated page.
  • Club 2024 is fully accessible to people with disabilities.
    Personalised support is available on request. See the reception team.
  • In addition to the dedicated sports, there is a climbing wall with adapted equipment provided by the team from the DECATHLON sporting goods retailer. Other activities include:
    → Events in the Ephemeral Garden include environmental and cultural exhibitions and there is also a library of games that can be borrowed.
    → A virtual underwater immersion experience
    → An accessible mobile pool (elevator system to enter)

  • For the rebroadcast of the Olympic events on the giant screen at Club 2024, a Magnetic Induction Loop (MIL) system will be set up to assist the hearing impaired. It will be available in the area for people with reduced mobility and at the site’s reception desk.

TRAFFIC
There is no traffic ban around the Marseille Marina. The traffic flow between the Nhow Marseille hotel and Club La Pelle will be changed to one lane going downhill. Please use public transport and soft mobility options to access the site.

UNAVAILABILITY OF CAR PARKS IN AND AROUND THE STADIUM

  • The P0, P2, P3, P4, and P6 car parks will be closed to the public from Thursday July 11 to Sunday August 18 for the exclusive use of the Olympic Games.
     
  • The P5 RTM Teisseire Dromel car park will be closed from Tuesday July 23 to Wednesday August 7.
  • The P7 (Pugette) car park will be closed from Friday July 19 to Friday August 9 2024.

LA VOI(L)E EST LIBRE PEDESTRIAN ZONE - THURSDAY AUGUST 8

For the finals of the men’s and women’s Olympic kiteboarding events on Thursday August 8, part of the Corniche Président John Fitzgerald Kennedy (from the Vallon de l’Oriol to the Résidence des Alpilles) will be pedestrianised from noon to 19h.

  • Traffic will be interrupted between 11h and 20h.
  • Public transport routes run to the Capitaine Dessemond bus stop in one direction and to the Marseille Marina in the other.

CAMPER VANS

There are no dedicated parking areas for camper vans near the Olympic venues.

 

ROGER COUDERC STADIUM

The Roger Couderc stadium will be closed to the public from Monday July 8 to Friday August 9.
Crossing through the stadium from Boulevard Simon Bolivar to Avenue Etoile Polaire will be prohibited on the days the stadium is in use.

ACCESS TO THE BEACHES

Due to special events linked to the Olympic Games and summer festivities, access the Prado beaches has been modified.

  • The interactive map shows which areas of the beach are accessible to the general public on which dates.
  • The pink zone is only accessible to ticket holders.

MARITIME TRAFFIC / RECREATIONAL BOATING
  • From Friday July 26 to Friday August 9, traffic at sea is strictly regulated in the southern part of the bay of Marseille in the area dedicated to the sailing competitions. Restrictions apply around the perimeter of the competition area, and all non-authorised sea vessels are prohibited in the competition area.
  • From 10h to 20h from Friday July 26 to Friday August 9, no private boats will be allowed to sail in the Olympic competition area.
  • The zones with temporary regulations that have been set up for the Olympics are shown on the map below.
    Outside these zones, other permanent regulations may apply in the maritime area. Users can consult them on the Nav&Co application (App Store - Google Play).
     
  • Swimming areas: all areas reserved for supervised swimming are open to the public during the summer, with the exception of an area of the Prado Nord beach that is part of the Olympic Games zone and is under restrictions from Friday July 12 to Sunday August 18.

FOOTBALL
Tickets are still available
for the Olympic tournament matches on the official Paris 2024 ticketing website.

  • Billet à l’unité start at €24 for all group matches (except for France, which start at €30).
  • Paris 2024 is offering a Special Offer: four tickets for €60 (subject to conditions).  


SAILING
Tickets for the Olympic sailing events are available for purchase on the official Paris 2024 ticketing website.

  • Single tickets from €24 euros. There is no assigned seating and no grandstand in the marina.

LOST AND FOUND
 

Where can I find lost items at the Olympic venues?

  • Until August 12 at the competition venues themselves 
  • Starting on August 16, at the municipal lost property department of the City of Marseille located at 41 boulevard de Briançon. Open Monday to Friday from 9h to 17h30.

Regulations specific to Marseille: The City of Marseille keeps lost property for three months.      

Go to https://troov.com/marseille to post your lost property notice, and bring proof of identity with you to recover your lost property. (Service in French).

PROGRAM OF FESTIVITIES FOR THE OLYMPIC GAMES

Visit marseille.fr/games-2024 to find out about all the free activities organised by the City of Marseille at CLUB 2024 and as part of the Cultural Olympiad.

A convivial space with a sea view covering almost 8000 square metres, the main aim of the CLUB 2024 is to welcome as many people as possible to enjoy events and celebrate the Olympic spirit.

From July 24 to August 11, it will offer a free sports and event programme that is open to everybody (broadcasts or rebroadcasts of events on a giant screen, conferences, daily sports events, themed evenings, sports facilities open to the public, etc.).
